How Our Y4-Y5-Y6 (Intermediate) Class Works

Who it's for
Intermediate Year 4–5–6 learners who already understand a fair amount of Italian, often through family exposure, but tend to reply in English or feel unsure when speaking.
This group is ideal for children who can follow lessons in Italian but need support to become more confident, accurate, and independent speakers.

A fully Italian environment
Lessons are conducted entirely in Italian, with language carefully graded to the group’s level.
Learners are encouraged to speak in full sentences, ask questions, and interact naturally, while the teacher provides structure, modelling, and gentle correction to support progress across all skills.

Structured activities to build independence
Activities are age-appropriate and purposeful, including guided conversation, role play, listening tasks, short readings, and simple writing.
The focus is on helping learners express ideas more clearly and confidently, laying solid groundwork for more independent use of Italian. Over time, this can support a transition towards more advanced study, including GCSE, should that be of interest.
