These Terms and Conditions apply to participation in the LearnIt Cambridge – Saturday Italian School organised by the Director Daniele Pio Buenza (trading as LearnIt Cambridge), held at Hills Road Sixth Form College.
1. Who Can Attend
-
The Saturday School accepts students from Reception to Year 13.
-
Lessons are divided by age groups and, within each age group, by ability level. These levels may include:
-
Base – little or no comprehension and limited ability to speak.
-
Intermedio – good comprehension, needs support to speak.
-
Avanzato – understands and communicates in Italian; aims to expand vocabulary, reading and writing.
-
Exam-focused tracks (GCSE or A-Level) – available for older students (Y8–Y13) where class and teacher availability allows.
-
-
Not all levels or courses are active immediately. As the project grows and teachers are added, additional classes will be opened.
-
Access to GCSE and A-Level preparation courses requires assessment. One weekly lesson may not be suitable for every student; LearnIt Cambridge may recommend additional support where needed.
2. Language Policy
-
Intermedio and Avanzato lessons are taught entirely in Italian.
-
Base lessons may use English when necessary to support comprehension.
-
For all levels, English may be used for safeguarding, safety, or wellbeing reasons.
3. Location and Timing
-
Lessons take place at Hills Road Sixth Form College.
-
Course times vary by age group and are displayed on the LearnIt Cambridge website.
-
Drop-off is permitted from 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
-
LearnIt Cambridge takes responsibility for children only from the moment a staff member is present in the classroom.
4. Booking, Registration, and Payment
-
Payment in full is required before the start of term in order to secure a place.
-
A Registration Form must be completed for each child. Without a valid Registration Form, payment will be refunded and the place offered to another student.
-
By completing payment, parents confirm that they have read and agree to:
-
These Terms and Conditions, and
-
The LearnIt Cambridge Data Retention Policy.
-
-
Courses are paid per term only.
One-off or drop-in sessions are not permitted. -
If enrolling after term has begun and space is available, fees will be calculated pro rata for the remaining lessons.
5. Pricing and Sibling Discounts
-
Each additional sibling receives a 10% discount.
-
To obtain the discount, get in touch with the School to get a discount code. Alternatively, we may send you a customised invoice.
-
Discounts may be reviewed annually; discounts for full-year bookings may be introduced in future years.
6. Cancellations, Refunds, and Consumer Rights
-
Parents have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of payment.
-
If the student has not attended any sessions, a full refund is issued.
-
If lessons have already been attended within this period, the cost of the attended lessons will be deducted from the refund.
-
-
Beyond the 14-day period, no refunds are offered, except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Director.
-
If the school cancels a session, a replacement session or a refund for that session will be provided.
6A. Minimum Numbers, Course Changes, and Cancellation by the School
Courses are subject to a minimum number of enrolled students.
If, before the start of term, the minimum number of students required to run a course is not reached, LearnIt Cambridge reserves the right to:
-
propose an alternative solution, which may include:
-
a different age group or level,
-
a different day or time,
-
an online alternative, or
-
a different LearnIt Cambridge course where appropriate; or
-
-
cancel the course.
If a suitable alternative is proposed, parents are under no obligation to accept it.
If the course is cancelled by LearnIt Cambridge due to insufficient enrolment, or if no suitable alternative is accepted by the parent, a full refund of all fees paid will be issued.
LearnIt Cambridge will make reasonable efforts to inform families of any changes or cancellations as early as possible before the start of term.
6B. Trial Runs
From time to time, LearnIt Cambridge may offer limited Trial Runs for specific groups or students. These Trial Runs are shorter than standard term courses and are designed to evaluate group compatibility, learning dynamics, and the suitability of future course placement.
Participation in a Trial Run does not guarantee access to a full course. LearnIt Cambridge reserves the right, at the end of the Trial Run, to:
-
propose continued group lessons for all or some participants, at the same price or at a different price, as determined by the School;
-
recommend alternative paths, formats, or levels for individual students if deemed more appropriate for their progress;
-
decline continued attendance if it is judged that the student’s participation is not educationally beneficial or negatively affects the group dynamic.
Trial Run lessons are typically shorter (e.g., 1 hour instead of 1.5 hours), and designed for observation and assessment. Parents will receive feedback at the end of the Trial Run. All decisions will be made in the best educational interest of the child and the group as a whole.
Refunds for Trial Runs follow the same consumer rights and discretionary refund terms outlined in Section 6.
7. Level Placement, Progression, and Class Changes
-
LearnIt Cambridge commits to communicating clearly with parents and responding promptly to concerns.
-
If a child is not at the appropriate level, the school will notify parents. Where an appropriate alternative level is active:
-
the student may be moved to the more suitable class.
-
-
If the correct level is not active, parents may:
-
choose to keep the student in the current class for the remainder of the term, provided the child behaves cooperatively, or
-
withdraw the student and receive a refund for remaining lessons (pro rata).
-
-
If a child’s behaviour is significantly disruptive:
-
parents will be informed and given the opportunity to support improvements;
-
if the behaviour continues, the school may remove the student and issue a pro-rata refund.
-
-
These measures ensure a positive learning environment for all students.
8. Conduct and Participation
-
Students are expected to behave respectfully, participate enthusiastically, and follow instructions.
-
Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may lead to temporary or permanent exclusion as outlined in Section 7.
-
The school aims to support every student positively and respectfully at all times.
9. Health and Safety
-
LearnIt Cambridge does not provide snacks.
-
If students bring food and drinks, it must:
-
contain no nuts,
-
only water may be brought as a drink.
-
-
Parents must provide accurate medical, safeguarding, and emergency information in the Registration Form.
10. Safeguarding
-
All members of staff have an Enhanced DBS check.
-
LearnIt Cambridge does not employ volunteers for lesson delivery or supervision; all supervising staff are paid and DBS-checked.
-
Children must be picked up by a parent or by an authorised adult listed on the Registration Form. If a different adult is to collect the child, parents must provide prior written notice.
-
If a child requires immediate assistance for personal care or wellbeing reasons (including bathroom-related situations), and sufficient staff are available, two members of staff will support the child in line with safeguarding best practice. In such cases, an internal incident record will be completed, and parents will be informed of what occurred.
-
If sufficient staff are not available, LearnIt Cambridge cannot leave classrooms or groups of children unattended. In these circumstances, staff will not be able to provide direct assistance and will instead contact the emergency contacts listed in the Registration Form.
11. Photos and Recordings
-
Consent for photographs or recordings will be requested in the Registration Form.
-
No photos or recordings of children will be used publicly without explicit parental consent.
12. Communication
-
The school welcomes questions, feedback, and dialogue with families.
-
Contact details for the school can be found on the LearnIt Cambridge website.
13. Updates to Terms
-
LearnIt Cambridge may update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
-
Significant changes will be published on the website and communicated via email.
