How Our Y4-Y5 (Advanced)
Class Works

Who it's for
Advanced Year 4–Year 5 learners who already speak and understand Italian with confidence, usually through regular use at home.
This group is designed for children who can communicate effectively in Italian and are ready to work more deliberately on accuracy, structure, reading and writing.

A fully Italian environment
Lessons take place entirely in Italian, with language input adapted to a higher level of competence.
Learners are encouraged to use precise language and reflect on grammatical choices, while teachers provide clear explanations and targeted feedback to refine vocabulary and accuracy.

Developing accuracy across all four skills
Learners practise speaking, listening, reading and writing, with activities adapted to the higher level of the class and used to consolidate grammar and vocabulary in context.
While this class is not a GCSE preparation course, some materials are selected with future academic pathways in mind, so that learners who later choose GCSE Italian are already familiar with more formal language use.
